Today’s wait: waiting for melatonin to kick in

I’m lucky. I have a family that loves and cares for me. I’m double lucky in that my in-laws treat me as I’m family as well.

From treating us to meals, helping with our little one, to just be our cheerleaders, our families are always doing positive things for us.

I don’t ever want to take their generosity for granted. They have put us up during hurricane evacuations, cooked our meals, and supported our wacky adventures.

We are lucky to be as fortunate as we are.

WordPress offers a daily writing prompt that I’ve found to be an excellent tool to help me spend my idle time more productively. Whether I’m waiting in the car, sitting in a doctor’s office, or have a few minutes to spare, I’ve decided to turn to these prompts as a healthier alternative to doom-scrolling through social media or news sites. While I don’t plan to follow this practice every single day, I do intend to engage with it occasionally. This exercise also presents a unique challenge: crafting these pieces entirely on my phone. The texts will be quickly written and unpolished, reflecting the spontaneous nature of the moments in which they are created. This practice not only provides a creative outlet but also enhances my ability to write succinctly and think creatively on the go.
