We have never been to Chicago. Since this is our first time, we also want to explore the city. We have not decided, but it looks like we will take a break from Celebration and see the Windy City. If we do attend, these are our picks for Sunday panels at Star Wars Celebration Chicago.
Read our Friday and Saturday picks.
The Mandalorian
It’s a lottery panel. It’s also probably the first look at new series for Disney+. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will be there. Will there be other surprises?
11:00-12:00 Celebration Stage and streamed to the Galaxy and Twin Sun Stages.
Fanthropy: The Magic of Droids
Did you ever want to know why droid builders spend that much time and invest that much money into their droids? Well, follow a droid around and watch people’s faces light up. This panel will discuss their work and the benefits of building droids.
12:15-1:00 Star Wars University Stage
Coffee with Kenobi
This is one of my favorite podcasts. It’s smart and has a positive impact on the fandom. I’m also partial to podcasts hosted by teachers and Dan Z. is a fellow educator. Update: James Arnold Taylor, the voice of General Kenobi in the Clone Wars, will be appearing on this show. So if you bring your own coffee, it will truly be coffee with Kenobi!
1:00-1:45 Podcast Stage
A Galaxy of Inspiration – Projects from DK’s Star Wars Maker Lab demonstrated by Liz Heinecke and Cole Horton
Being a STEM teacher, I enjoy going to STEM related panels. Ms. Heinecke and Mr. Horton, authors of Star Wars Maker Lab, discuss and perform some of the experiments in their book.
2:15-3:15 Fan Stage
Star Wars: The Clone Wars Sneak Peek
Dave Filoni will be present as well as “special guests.” I would expect quite a bit of The Clone Wars cast to be present.
3:30-4:30 Celebration Stage and streaming on the Twin Suns Stage.
Romance: Those Ships Also Belong in Star Wars
Parts of any fandom enjoy shipping characters. If you don’t know what that means, its when the fandom creates relationships between characters. That’s about all I know about it. That’s why I would love to go to this panel.
To learn about why people love Star Wars and how they interact with it..
4:15-5:00 pm. Star Wars University Stage.
Rogue Podron
Another of my favorite podcasts, Rogue Podron, will take the Podcast Stage. What is great about this podcast is that they truly are great friends and it comes through in their recordings.
5:00-5:45 Podcast Stage
