Episode 26: Angel Olsen in Concert, The Republic NOLA, and Sun Kil Moon’s Latest Album

In this week’s music podcast, Mr. Nola Nerd Couple reviews the recent Angel Olsen concert as well as the venue the show was held, The Republic in New Orleans.  He also tells you why he listening to Sun Kil Moon is like a boxing match. When the punches land, they are devastating.

I noticed when I recorded the podcast, that I found myself contradicting what I originally thought of this record. I thought it was unfocused, but the more I think about it, the more I think I’m wrong.  He seems to be unfocused but he knows what he is doing.  Again, I think the boxing metaphor applies.  He does feign a lot, he throws body punches to wear you out, but when he wants to land a knockout punch, he does with skill and percision.
