Star Wars Podcasts: Exploring the Galaxy with Others

Guest Stint on Who Dat Jedi Podcast

Lately, I have been looking for podcasts to listen to. I’ve made all my listening about my job recently. I really hadn’t done any nerdy podcasts and I really hadn’t listened to any Star Wars podcasts since 2019/2020. I really needed something to remind me how awesome podcasts about the saga are.

Well the fates intervened. Recently, the Who Dat Jedi Podcast welcomed me as a guest on their podcast. It had been a long time since I did a podcast, so I was a little worried I wouldn’t know what to do or what to say. But as the Mrs likes to say, I love to talk.

I totally had a blast. I shared our Star Wars story, our New Orleans story, and a lot of thoughts on the saga. If you haven’t checked out the Who Dat JediPodcast, you really should. Aaron, Fredo, and David are great hosts with some amazing stories.

You can listen to the podcast here or wherever you listen to podcasts,

Getting ready for the podcast was the first time that I had listened to Star Wars podcasts. I had to skip around a few for the Who Dat Jedi podcast because we have yet to start the Bad Batch, but the ones that I did listen to made me itch for more.

Adding Star Wars Podcasts To My Queue

Since our last Celebration in 2019 in Chicago, we have been hit by a lot of life changes (covid, buying a new house, teaching new courses, Hurricane Ida, etc.) that I hadn’t really listened to any non-work related podcasts. I was relieved to find out that the Skytalkers podcast is still producing great content. My favorite Star Wars YouTube channel, Star Wars Explained, has an audio only version podcast, and it is fantastic.

One of the hardest things about Star Wars podcasts is the sheer number of them. While most cover the news of the week(s) between recording, each one has their own niche. Having done our own podcast, I’m in awe of how so many people can do this so often. It takes a lot of commitment and time to pull off this much content regularly.

I often wonder if Disney would have never bought Star Wars, would we have as many podcasts as we do. Having new Star Wars releases beyond books has definitely made it easier for people like me who love sharing our thoughts about them.

Besides the aforementioned podcasts, I really like Force Toast Podcast and Star Wars in Character. Both are both knowledgable and laugh out loud funny. There are so many great podcasts out there. In fact, they make me wish we had a longer commute so I could listen to even more!

What is your favorite Star Wars podcast? Recommend some for me in the comments below!

I'm a husband to a woman who is nerdier than I am, and a father to a near perfect child. I am one of the main authors for this website, plus I handle most of the technical aspects (web design, editing podcasts, and videos, etc.) During the day, I'm a Computer Science and African American Studies Teacher. Most of my free time I'm listening to music or podcasts and watching soccer. I love Star Wars and Star Trek equally. I'm a horrible gamer yet I game. You can reach me at nolanerdcouple@gmail.com
