Star Wars Celebration Cosplay Competition Early Info

Star Wars Celebration Chicago Cosplay Competition

If you have been to as many cons as we have, you would know that the best part of any con is seeing other con-goers dressed up.  We love all of them: lo-fi to good-enough-to-be-professionally designed. Celebration usually takes it to the next level.  Some of the finest that we have seen over the years was an unmasked Darth Vader (think the end of Return of the Jedi) to a life-size Jar Jar Binks.

I have dressed as a Hipster Vader once, while the Mrs. and her sisters went as Night Sisters.  One year, Mrs. Nola Nerd Couple went as Shaak Ti forcing my wife to act as her bodyguard and handler.  It was that good.  It was so good she should have joined the Star Wars Cosplay Competition!

That’s right, every Star Wars Celebration has a cosplay contest. Your entry must be a character from the saga or the Star Wars Universe. You will have to apply for the competition (they do get that many entries), so it can be reviewed before deciding.

Good news is that the application process isn’t open yet.  This gives you plenty of time to complete your costume and do some photo shoots for your application!

About Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Celebration will occur April 11-15, 2019 at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. Star Wars Celebration is the ultimate Star Wars fandom event. Celebrity guests, authors, and crew members from the saga will be interacting with guests through panels, photo ops, or autograph opportunities. There will be Q&A sessions with various members of the saga. Also, plenty of fan lead discussions and cosplay contests will take place. Also, there will be tons of rare Star Wars merchandise available.

We hope to see you at Celebration and may the Force be with you!

Most of my free time I'm listening to music or podcasts and watching soccer. I love Star Wars and Star Trek equally. I'm a horrible gamer yet I game. You can reach me at nolanerdcouple@gmail.com
