Writing while Waiting: Reading Books Over and Over Again.

What book could you read over and over again?

Monday-Wednesday, my daughter has something to do, whether it be dance, tumbling, soccer, or Girl Scout meetings. These activities give me a lot of spare time, so I decided to start a new series called Writing in the Car.

This site is a WordPress site, and to keep their bloggers blogging, they provide daily prompts to their authors. This is my first time answering one, and I’m doing it on the phone in the car, so don’t expect great writing. Even the featured image for this was made in the car.

And for this one, I don’t even know if I have an answer. I don’t normally reread books. I rewatch a lot of TV and movies, but there are only a handful of books that I have read more than once

Since books are such an older medium compared to visual storytelling, there are so many more books. The staggering amount of books I still have to read calls my name too loudly to ignore

I’ve read Catcher in the Rye twice, but it’s not a book that I particularly enjoy. Same with 1984. I only reread them cause I read them younger than most people did, and I wanted to read them with an adult POV. I really can’t think of any other books that I reread for pleasure. Also, I was always drawn to history and biographies. Now, I can read multiple books on certain subjects.

I want to reread The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings with my little girl. I may even revisit Harry Potter with her. Reading books over and over again is not my cup of tea, but reading with my daughter is my jam.

I do want to share how and why I loved the stores with her. And I want her to read them before she watches the movies.

So, on my first prompt writing, I really didn’t answer the question. Or maybe I just haven’t found the right book yet.

I'm a husband to a woman who is nerdier than I am, and a father to a near perfect child. I am one of the main authors for this website, plus I handle most of the technical aspects (web design, editing podcasts, and videos, etc.) During the day, I'm a Computer Science and African American Studies Teacher. Most of my free time I'm listening to music or podcasts and watching soccer. I love Star Wars and Star Trek equally. I'm a horrible gamer yet I game. You can reach me at nolanerdcouple@gmail.com
