April and May are busy times of the year for comic cons and for us. Star Wars Celebration is coming up Easter weekend and in May we will be attending Comicpalooza and MegaCon. Plus, our day jobs are winding down. Since we write extensively about cons that are in driving distance from us, I figured, when I have time, I would write about cons a little further from us.
The Great Philadelphia Comic Con is April 7-9th. The show is in The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
Here are a few of the actors appearing:
Alan Harris: Bossk is one of our favorite bounty hunters from Star Wars and he brought this character to life.
Alan Tudyk and Jewel Staite: Mrs. Nola Nerd Couple needs Alan for her Rogue One poster and I need him for my Firefly poster. We met the lovely Ms. Staite at Wizard World New Orleans.
Jed Rees and Brianna Hildebrand: Mr. Rees has been in Deadpool and Galaxy Quest, two of our favorite movies. We both loved Ms. Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead on Deadpool so we would probably get an 8×10.
John Morton: He doubled as Boba Fett and is sought after by Star Wars collectors because he is in a few shots with Darth Vader and Lando. He also plays Luke’s Gunner in the same movie.
David Ankrum and Angus MacInnes: We just met them at Pensacon and enjoyed talking with them.
Colin Baker, the 6th Doctor, is a wonderful con guest. We have met him at numerous cons and he is always wonderful to meet.
John Wesley Shipp is one of the most personable guests we have met at a con.
Lavar Burton and Marina Sirtis of Star Wars the Next Generation will be attending. You can read about how adventures meeting the cast of The Next Generation here.
One of our favorite Rebels from Star Wars, Taylor Gray will be in Philadelphia. Having met him before, he is someone we highly recommend you meet.
From the Power Rangers, the following will be at the Great Philadephia Comic Con:
Austin St. John
Catherine Sutherland
David Fielding
Karan Ashley
Nakia Burisse
Steve Cardenas
Walter Jones
Paul Freeman, also of Power Rangers, also played the villain in Raiders of the Lost Arc.
Margaret Kerry is a veteran actor who did one of the voices of the mermaids in Peter Pan.
There will be some great comic book artists and writers at the convention including Ty Templeton, Micheal Golden, and Neal Adams.
This looks like it will be a great con. Plus, it is right outside Valley Forge National Park if you can sneak a little time to do some sightseeing.
Have, a great con folks.
