Big Easy Con’s Cosplay Contest and Gaming Areas

Big Easy Con will be here soon! New Orleans’s newest fan convention is shaping up to be a great experience. Big Easy Con will announce the programming schedule soon. Besides panels, vendors, and guests, Big Easy Con will have plenty of events to keep you entertained. Two things that we plan on checking out will be Big Easy Con’s Cosplay Contest and Gaming Areas.

Costume Contest

The Big Easy Costume contest will take place on June 1. Deadline for entries is May 15. No entries after this date will be allowed, which means you will not be allowed to show up to the con and sign up.

There will be three categories for people to enter: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Beginner means you have not one any awards. Intermediate means you have won one to three awards; advanced means you have previously won 4 or more awards.

Check out Big Easy Con’s cosplay contest page for more information.

One more thing, the contest is for people age 11 and older. For younger cosplayers, there will be a cosplay parade.

What should we dress the Nola Nerd Baby as for the parade?

Gaming

Big Easy Con and +1Gaming are getting together to provide a tabletop gaming area. This includes games to check out as well as a few tournaments and leagues. There will also be some demo games. This will be in the Rivergate room

For video gaming, Microsoft is partnering with Big Easy Con. There will be free open play and a Mortal Combat 11 tournament. Video Gaming will be in Booth 800.

Get Your Tickets

Big Easy Con will have plenty of options to keep you entertained. Guests like Ron Perlman, Robert Englund, and Linda Blair have great stories from their years in show business. Comic creators Charles Soule and David Finch are extremely talented and will have some great items for sale (and if you get there early enough you might be able to get Mr. Finch to do a commission).

Please check out our previous coverage of Big Easy Con!

Plus the events above, there will be plenty of panels and vendors to shop from. You can still purchase tickets. Just make sure you use our promo code!
