It’s been a while since we last attended Pensacon, but that’s not because we don’t want to go. Between teaching, parenting, and travel scheduling, the stars just haven’t aligned in recent years. With Pensacon 2026 happening February 20–22, 2026, we’re looking forward to returning to one of our favorite conventions in Pensacola, Florida.
It is our little one’s birthday weekend so that she might want a traditional birthday party. But imagine wearing an ‘It’s My Birthday’ shirt at a fan convention. She would be the queen of Pensacon.
For those new to it, Pensacon blends big-name celebrity guests with a welcoming, community-based vibe that makes it perfect for families. There’s something about this Gulf Coast con that feels like the perfect mix of fandom, fun, and Florida sunshine.

Pensacon 2026 is packed with an incredible guest list that covers film, television, anime, and pop culture.
- Star Wars fans can look forward to Dominic Burgess, Jacob Roanhaus, and Marti Matulis from Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, along with Alistair Petrie and Pierro Niel-Mee from Andor and Femi Taylor from Return of the Jedi.
- Disney favorites include David Errigo Jr. and Vincent Martella from Phineas and Ferb

Why We Always Love Pensacon
Pensacon stands out because of its strong sense of community. Whether you’re a first-timer or a longtime attendee, it’s one of the most approachable fan conventions around. It is one of our favorite fan conventions. Volunteers and organizers keep everything running smoothly, and the downtown area joins the fun with themed restaurant menus and pop-up events. There’s always something for kids, teens, parents, and pop-culture fans alike.
When our little one turned one, we celebrated at Pensacon. My mom, who isn’t one to attend a con for herself, enjoyed each moment. She had a few conversations with guests, including Rachael Leigh Cook and others. It is a laid-back con that makes everyone feel at home.
Part of what makes it special is the city of Pensacola itself. With great food, walkable streets, and beach views, every Pensacon trip feels like a mini-vacation. We often escape the crowds during the day, especially on Saturday, and play tourist.
Our Family Plan for Pensacon 2026
We’re hoping 2026 will be the year the Nola Nerd Family returns to Pensacon. Kurt will probably head straight for the Star Wars panels, Cristina is excited for autograph sessions and creative cosplay ideas, and our daughter can’t wait to meet voice actors from Paw Patrol and Phineas and Ferb.
