Few times do I get to the “spare no expense” level with a con guest for myself. Of course, Mrs. Nola Nerd Couple seems to find her self in that situation a little more often. For me, it was meeting Sarah Michelle Gellar and John Hurt.
Now, MegaCon has Gary Lockwood and Keir Dullea.
I know they are not household names to a lot of people. However, they are the two major stars of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Mr. Lockwood portrayed Dr. Frank Poole and Mr. Dullea was Dr. David Bowman. Most of the rest of the cast, which is a very small cast to begin with, has passed away or retired from public life.
2001: A Space Odyssey is still a marvel to behold. This is especially holds true if you realize that the film is fifty years old this year. It’s still gorgeous and elusive.
Unfortunately, we can only make it to the con on Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Lockwood and Mr. Dullea will be doing a panel on Thursday at 8 pm.
However, I still plan on meeting them and am still considering doing a photo op with them and the Nola Nerd Baby (and Mrs Nola Nerd Couple too)!
