Feeling the Baby Kick: A Moment That Outshines Any Movie

When it comes to milestone moments for expecting parents, few experiences compare to feeling the baby kick for the first time. It’s a magical, unforgettable moment that can happen anytime—even during a movie like Justice League.

For us, this wasn’t just a movie night; it became a memory we’ll treasure forever. Let’s dive into how this beautiful moment unfolded, why it’s tied to the film, and how humanizing superheroes makes them more relatable to audiences.

Why Humanizing Superheroes Matters

One of the key differences between DC and Marvel is the relatability of their characters. Marvel excels at portraying the human side of its heroes, making them more relatable and engaging. Watching gods can become tedious unless their struggles, emotions, and humanity are explored in depth. This is particularly true for Superman.

If Superman is only portrayed as an all-powerful Kryptonian with no grounding in humanity, he becomes too perfect—a god on Earth. The Injustice comics explore this darker side of Superman’s potential. Still, while it’s an intriguing concept for comic book fans, it’s not something that would translate well to mainstream theater audiences.

The reality is that comic book movies are not made solely for comic book enthusiasts. They’re designed to appeal to broader audiences. This sometimes means straying from the source material, but when done right, it can result in something truly special.

Justice League isn’t perfect. The CGI villain was underwhelming, and the storyline wasn’t exactly groundbreaking. But one thing the movie achieved was making its superheroes feel more human—a trait that’s essential for audience connection.

Feeling the Baby Kick!

But here’s the twist—none of this really mattered to us that night because of what happened during the movie.

As Wonder Woman battled fiercely on-screen, Miss Nola Nerd Baby decided to kick hard enough for me to feel her for the very first time. Mrs. Nola Nerd Couple grabbed my hand, and together, we felt this incredible, life-affirming moment.

It’s hard to describe the emotions of feeling your child move for the first time. It’s a mix of joy, awe, and connection. In that instant, Wonder Woman’s strength on screen mirrored the strength we felt from our baby.

And because of the struggles of my wife’s pregnancy, this was the only time I got to experience this.

This wasn’t just a cinematic experience—it became a defining memory of parenthood.

Why This Moment Will Always Stand Out

For us, Justice League will always hold a special place in our hearts. It wasn’t the flawless storytelling or the action-packed sequences. It was the way this movie became tied to one of the most meaningful moments of our lives.

Movies have the power to create more than on-screen memories—they evoke real emotions and moments that stay with us forever

I love that Nerd Baby kicked during the Wonder Woman scenes! That’s awesome! Once again, Wonder Woman (and wonder baby!) steals the show! I was pleasantly surprised by J.L. The CGI on Superman was god-awful and that was really distracting to me but overall, it was much better than I expected it to be!
