Writing While Waiting: What’s the most fun way to exercise?

What’s the most fun way to exercise?

WordPress has a daily prompt. I decided to use these prompts to pass the time when I’m waiting in the car, doctor’s office, etc., instead of doom scrolling. While I won’t do this every day, I will do it from time to time. This is a quickly written blog that will often be done entirely on the phone.  Today’s wait is the daughter’s tumbling class. Here is today’s subject: What’s the most fun way to exercise?

First of all, get your mind out of the gutter. This is a family blog.

If I have to exercise, and I have to, then cycling is my choice. Of course, outside is better, but with Apple Fitness. My indoor bike is pretty great as well. It’s just getting myself actually to do it. Running would be next, but as I get older, cycling is easier on the knees.

My favorite form of exercise based on location is a light hike and bonus points if it is in a national or state park. We are from Louisiana, so the hills have to be small and walkable. We have hiked at Manassas Battlefield and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We have also done some hikes in Grand Isle in the wooded areas.

But let’s face it, that gutter idea is still the best.

I'm a husband to a woman who is nerdier than I am, and a father to a near perfect child. I am one of the main authors for this website, plus I handle most of the technical aspects (web design, editing podcasts, and videos, etc.) During the day, I'm a Computer Science and African American Studies Teacher. Most of my free time I'm listening to music or podcasts and watching soccer. I love Star Wars and Star Trek equally. I'm a horrible gamer yet I game. You can reach me at nolanerdcouple@gmail.com
