Star Wars Outlaws Coming in August

Trailer for Star Wars: Outlaws Revealed

The upcoming release of “Star Wars Outlaws” has certainly caught my attention, even though I’m not the typical die-hard gamer. Set to launch on August 30 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, this open-world game looks like a fun way to dive into a Star Wars adventure. You get to play as Kay Vess, a newcomer striving to make a name in the galaxy’s underworld.

Recently, Ubisoft released a new story trailer, unveiling key villains and possible friends you might make along the way. To me, it seems like we are getting a kind of sequel to “Solo,” where you’ll interact with a rogue’s gallery from the seedy side of Star Wars. The underworld of the galaxy is central to this new game, which opens many possibilities for gameplay and enriches the saga’s lore. I particularly appreciate the open-world concept, as it reflects the unpredictable nature of life in criminal activities.

StarWars.com recently interviewed Julian Gerighty, the creative director at Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment, to discuss the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws. Gerighty explores the formation of new criminal syndicates in the game, underscoring their unique roles within the Star Wars universe and Star Wars Outlaws. Additionally, the discussion touches on the game’s central theme, encapsulating the life of a person on the outskirts of regular society in the galaxy and offering players a story that merges the excitement of underworld escapades with the developmental journey of its main character, Kay Vess.

I’m thoroughly enjoying the worlds being created in the Jedi games, and this one definitely interests me. I know there is some criticism, but I refuse to make judgments or even listen to them until the game is released. In fact, I may even do something I rarely ever do: pre-order.

Star Wars Outlaws is scheduled for an August 30, 2024 release.
