Exercising: Goals Update

When school started again, my exercise plan went out the window. I had been going to Planet Fitness quite regularly, but not so much now. However, I have stayed the same weight so far.  I’m now 217 lbs which will make it 22 lbs from Christmas. I want to be 190 by Christmas 2017 but will settle for 200.

I am coaching football this year.  I’m not a football guru, but I do know a few things, and it is freshmen football, so it’s not the high pressure of varsity football.  It’s much more about teaching.  Plus, it’s outside which is great since every single time I’ve had an arthritic flare, my vitamin D levels are low.  Furthermore, I’m moving around.

One thing I’ve learned is the power of nutrition.  Eating well is, of course, a good thing, but making sure I don’t over eat is even more important. If it comes out of my kitchen, I weigh it.  This has led to me realizing how much I ate.  I recently split a large poorboy from Parkway Bakery the other day with Mrs. Nola Nerd Couple, and I was shocked at how full I was.  A year ago, I would have devoured that thing by myself.

I’m starting to notice how much better I look and so are other people.  More importantly, I feel so much better than I did before.  I have more energy and more focus.

Now, I just need to work on that 17-27 lbs I want to lose by Christmas!
