The Nola Nerd Couple Podcast Episode 15: Mississippi Comic Con

After a month’s vacation from podcasting, we are back with a review of the MS Comic Con. We got to meet quite a few members of the Star Wars universe and get some autographs to help complete, and start, some collections. This was a well-organized con that seems to be growing.  We then preview the Louisiana Comic Con in Lafayette coming up in September. We also give our thoughts on Guardians 2 and Wonder Woman, because we are nothing if not timely.

ComicCon-ing: Mississippi Comic Con

The Mississippi Comic Con will be held June 24 and 25 at the MS Trade Mart in Jackson, Mississippi.  The con has a great lineup and is an easy drive from New Orleans.

The main people we want to see are Jeremy Bulloch, Mark Dodson, Jerome St.John Blake, and Barbara Goodson.  They all have had various roles in different Star Wars productions.  Mr. Bulloch is most famous for giving life to Boba Fett.  We need him to complete a Fett picture we have that has Daniel Logan and Temora Morrison’s signatures. Mr. Dodson voiced one of Ms. Nola Nerd Couple’s favorite characters, Salacious Crumb. Mr. Blake portrayed Mas Amedda (a character I want to learn more about in the new canon) and well as quite a few others in the prequels.  Ms. Goodson, most famous for Rita Repulsa from the Power Rangers, voiced Mother Talzin in the Clone Wars, again a favorite of Mrs. Nola Nerd Couple.

There will be other Power Rangers guests there including Walter Jones and David Yost.  Wrestling fans from the cold war era will enjoy meeting Nikolai Volkoff. There will also be actors from Stranger Things and anime as well as several comic creators.

So you put on your best cosplay, breeze into that city and have people stop and bow! Cause we are going to Jackson and you should go to!

Blogging: Vacation

Well, it’s summer time and we are on vacation. We will be taking a two week break from the website, but we will still be active on social media. We might even do a podcast. We will be back soon with adventures from St. Augustine and previews of the Mississippi Comic Con and the Game of Thrones con in Nashville.

See you soon!

ComicCon-ing: Cosplay from MegaCon

Cosplay at MegaCon was on point. The amount of time and effort that went into each person’s cosplay was evident.

Click on each photo to see the large version. If any of the pictures are of you, we would be glad to send you the picture unedited, just leave a comment or send us an email at nolanerdcouple@gmail.com.  I tried to leave a caption for each picture, but I’m not sure of what every cosplay is especially when it comes to anime or games. Corrections are encouraged in the comments or through email.  We would also love to have you share the story of how you made your cosplay and if you would like we could set you up as a guest blogger!
