Mr. Nola Nerd Couple’s Music Podcast: Sturgill Simpson and Nick Cave

Mr. Nola Nerd Couple’s Music Podcast is back! After figuring out how to do a podcast for the first season of podcasts, Mr. Nola Nerd Couple will be back with a weekly music podcast.  There will be no theme except for what I listen to during the week.  Except for this week, when the two artists I talk about musically express how they came to  grips with two very different parts of fatherhood.  This week’s podcast focuses on Sturgill Simpson turning the majestic Saenger Theater into a honky-tonk bar with songs celebrating the birth of his son.  After attending that rowdy show I headed to New Orleans oldest operating movie theater to watch the gripping, somber documentary of the making Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds new album, Skeleton Tree, their first album since the death of his son, Arthur.
